Quad Race box Dyno

Quad Race box Dyno
At yesterday's dyno day event in Lewisville Texas, I had the opportunity for my first dyno attempt. I'll state that yesterday wasn't the most optimal condition for hp. (ie heat and humidity). Temperature in shop was running around 104-105 degrees !!
I've never dyno'd before and was a bit nervous and didn't really know what to do. The only modifications I have is Scotty Air Ram II. Still running factory exhaust. On first pull I wanted to get a baseline on a stock truck. Dyno operator suggested that I pull in 5th gear. I physically took my Quad Race box off and put in the bypass plug.
First pull in 5th gear yielded 264.8 HP and 488.6. I was a bit dissappointed because I have read numerous times that a stock 04.5 Dodge should dyno in the range of 275 hp and 520 tq. I then shutdown the truck while it was on the rollers, and put in my race box. Put it on 130hp setting. I was nervous as 30-40 people were just staring at me, and made my second pull. However, I did a rookie mistake and didn't pay attention to what gear I was in and made a 4th gear pull !!! Doh! That resulted in 318.0 HP. However the optical sensor didn't work properly so I didn't get a good reading on the torque.
So one pull left and I made darn sure I had it in 6th gear Last pull got me 400.3 HP and 728.8 tq. I was quite happy with the result, or at least I thought I was. Something about seeing 3 trucks dyno 700+ that had me wanting more

That is very good. When I dyno't the XZillaraider Race on 130hp I was only able to get 370hp.
With the Edge HOT Juice/Attitude Level 5 and EZ level 1 only put down 433hp. Pretty sure I ran out of fuel on higher end.

Auto vs 6spd. Your converter might be costing you some power. I have obviously never been in your truck, but you may have hurt your converter at some point.
Also if I remember correctly your stock numbers were much lower for some reason?

BigBlueDodge,
Good to meet you at the event. I was going to offer, that mine did better in 4th than it did a week earlier dynoing in 3rd. Mine is an auto, but it sounds like similar result.
Mine turned 264/502 in 3rd gear (dyno done by the operator) on 7-18-05......and at Lewisville Dyno Day 7-23-05 with me dynoing it for the first time...and the truck in 4th (overdrive).....it turned 280/528. Both runs are totally factory stock with original air box, cat, and exhaust.
Yours probably would have turned a little bigger number without the quad box if that run had also been in 6th gear.
