to the guys running 1400+, all i can say is that they must have ats manifolds...because 1400+ sustained will surely melt the stock manifold. ive seen it done numerous times...you get nickel sized holes in the manifold itself.
FYI cast iron melts around 2100 to 2800 deg.

I've seen a sustained 2200+ (gauge pegs at 2200) consistantly on a pulling truck without so much as a mark in the piston after the head was pulled do to a turbo explosion. Not saying that this is a good idea but it makes the 1350 everyone is so worried about pretty trivial.

ive always been told my egts have been low. ive never see over 1250 pre turbo running any setting other than crazy larry. with crazy larry i can see about 1300 to 1350. my probe is closest to the #4 cylinder.

Then urs is about exactly where mine is at. Maybe just certain trucks have the lucky ability to run cooler than others, than again maybe not I will pay with the price of a new engine. But as far as I can tell all of my gauges and readings are reading properly. So anybody else have any oponions please let me hear them.

Your EGT`s seem to be right in line with mine. I`m running a BDPP stacked with an EZ, and my pyro probe is almost exactly where yours is. My EGT is about 550-625 @ 78mph on the interstate, and the highest I`ve ever seen it hit is about 1280 @WOT

Before I got my new turbo, my temps with the boxes stacked never went above 12-1300 degrees. With my new turbo I get to 1500. People have been telling me the same stuff about bad pyro probes for the past 3 years. Lots of guys believe that if your truck doesn't act exactly as theirs does then there must be something wrong with yours!
Remember, just because everybody on the web-boards thinks they are an expert, doesn't mean they are....

I better go out and look for holes in my manifold again.... I must have missed them!
