Push Start Button
I remember reading a long time ago about this mod, but can't seem to find it. Did anyone here ever do this mod? If so would you share any info on the install? I know some of the gasser ram guys are installing the srt 10 start buttons. Looks pretty cool too.

I have one in my truck, but I bought it like that. Whoever did it was smart, because more than once I hit the start button while meaning to hit the OD button. Nothing happens.

The usual spot that most use is the cig lighter. To wire in the SRT button use the RED lead (this is a hot wire )from your cigarette lighter which you will no longer have. (you are using this spot for the start button and the red lead is powered only when the ignition is on) and connect to the PIN 1 on the button. Then wire PIN 2 to the YELLOW wire that runs in the wire bundle under the dash and up the steering column. The YELLOW wire runs to the starter relay. If you SPLICE (note I said splice!)into the yellow wire (as opposed to cutting it) you have the option of using the BUTTON OR THE KEY to start the engine. Of course to use the BUTTON you still need the key and need to turn it to the RUN position before pushing the button because the red lead for the cig lighter is only powered when the ignition is turned on. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: while I have not tried CUTTING the YELLOW wire ABOVE the splice point mentioned in the above instuctions, I believe if you do cut the YELLOW above the spice in point the TrucK WILL NOW ONLY START WITH THE BUTTON AND TURNING THE KEY TO START WILL HAVE NO EFFECT. If someone cuts the yellow or has already, please post your results. If you look at the back of the SRT button you can see imprinted on the back the small numbers above the pins. If you hold the button with the 3 rows facing you with the row of 2 pins underneath they are marked-
3-2-1
6-5 (yes I know, but no pin is marked "4")
