Programming for use with large injectors?

Hello.. I used to run 90 hp DDP injectors while using a Smarty beta program and had great results. I have now switched to a much larger injector from DDP for use with my dual CP3's and twins. The truck ran great on level two with no timing. When I tried level three with timing, it started to caugh and I immediately let out of it. I've been told the beta I'm running has too much timing for use with large injectors. Bob advised me to try the normal aftermarket turbo-aftermarket injector program and see if that works. What are others using that are running a 200 plus hp injector on a CR? Has anyone here tried the Diablo with large injectors? I was told that plays well with them.

I run Smarty Beta 4.2 on the even #s with my Flux 3.5s no issues and Ive run it on the odds no issues. And I know someone who runs Huge Flux with the Smarty no problems. Sounds like you may have another issue.

I run the original Smarty SW-5 with another 6 degrees of timing from my TST with zero issues...Flux 3.3's.

It must be the advanced timing effect of large honed injects.

Maybe leave your Smarty on an older no timing version....lower setting and add duration with a TST...and NO more timing?

Bob said the present timing on my beta program was too radical to run with large injectors. On the no added timing levels, the truck runs very well. I've only tried levels two and three so far.. I know of two guys that have lost motors running the beta with large injectors, so I don't want to push my luck. After I get the programming straightened out with the large injectors, I plan on reinstalling the 90's to see the difference on the dyno and track.. The fuel mileage is also much better with the 90's.

Im using a predator pressure box with 3 position switch, and a bullydog downloader with my extra big FLUX 4's.

Morse, I know how you feel. I have to run the beta programs on even numbers also. I am currently running flux 5.1s and at part throttle I have what sounds like a timing rattle. It is not real loud so your truck needs to be quite to hear it. Never really heard it till I put twins on and that made my truck very quite at idle. Guys would never hear it with stacks or straight pipes. The noise does not seem to go away taking all the timing away. I am starting to think it may have to do with rail press rise with big injectors and twin pumps. If I just touch my throttle I have 20k psi. Don is working on a press box for me that will remove press at lower settings and part throttle. I have a couple melted motors at my shop, that the owners swear they never ran high egts. The motors looked perfect inside if you dont count melted pistons. If you hear knocking or rattles it is telling you there are issues, be carefull. Also seems 600 series motors are more affected by this. Tim

Tim, 600 motors vs 610s or 600 motors vs 555s?

600-610 Motors vs 555. The 555s run a lot less rail press at part throttle (5-6k lbs less). Tim
