Price on studs, fire rings, and macine work? Twins ?

Just as the title states.... Whats a good price for the studs, fire rings, and macine work? I was quoted 2000 for them to do the work and supply everything but the studs because I can get them way cheaper than they would give them to me.

Also what is the best way to have your twin setups put together. I am a custom fabricator but do not know enough about the system to do it myself. Tube chassis, cages, suspension I know, but I also know where to draw the line and let someone that knows what they are doing handle it. I am having my HTT 62-65-14 upgraded to a 64-71-14 and want to run an S400 or S480 and basically need everything to build the twins(piping, manifold, wastegates? etc...) Does someone make this or do I have to take it somewhere and have it fabbed up. I am in Vegas. Prices(ballpark?)

One more, What is the the Super Dave fromm HTT? I talked to them today and forgot to ask.

No need for Firerings on a 3rd gen. Just stud it and watch your drive pressures. Plenty of folks on here run without them and pushing anywhere from 800- 1200 hp on the stock headgasket. I super Dave I have heard of but I don't remember the specifics of that turbo.

If you do fab work you could do it yourself Im just finishing up mine, but many there is a lot of work that goes into them. Alot of people on here will say call Nathan Wright at MPI. Ive never seen one of his kits in person but all that I have heard has been good. He uses the same turbos that your wanting to run too.

Studs=Good idea
Fire rings= Money spent on nothing.
Don't waste your money on fire rings.

Nathan has a great reputation. I found him very helpful, informative and honest. He would be a good bet for the DIY guy.

IMO, don't go looking for the cheapest prices you can, you'll end up getting what you pay for !

IMO again, fire rings aren't that big of a waste. If you're going to pull or drag race with the truck and you want it to last all season being pushed to the extreme... everything you can do it going to benefit.

Are you planning to go bigger on your injectors? I think you're going to need a lot more fuel to feed twins of that size.

Shane is runnin DDP 110s 62/71/13 over S480 and he loves it. I think he would be fine with what he wants.


Not argueing with you, but at least one person out there is runnin 110s with a similar twins set up.

I think he would be better off with Shane's setup instead of a 64/71/14 on top.

I'm not sure why you would need or want anything bigger with that much fuel? I'm running 100hp sticks and can't get the EGT's over 1300* on the street with the stocker on top.

I agree, maybe for room to grow???

I dont know man, I am gona try the same set up as Shane as soon as I can, I may try a 64 up top to just to compare.

I could not go bigger on the sticks for now with the 62 alone and no dual CP-3(They will be on before anything else along with the studs)... it gets toasty as it is, but is still managable. I tow with TNT on 9 Rp1 TM1 TQ3 and can keep them where I want them. Set on #9 TM3 RP3 TQ3 and quad pressure on its toasty but strong.

I will just stick with the head gasket and studs... Thanks guys

I Drive the truck daily and tow my rock buggy a lot, occationally take it to the strip(rowing gears ha), Dyno, and want to pull a sled some for sure but I have not yet. I know you are supposed to build a truck for one thing, but I like too many so...

I also thought about just running a 66 single for a while. With the manual I'm not worried about the 66 being laggy... Any suggestions? Will I run into drive pressure issues with the single?

After this round of mods the next will be springs,cam... It will never end and I always want more.

i love my bullet but will be going with twins i can hit 1600 in a min when i drop the hammer so twins is the way im going to counter that

Shanes actually upgrading his to the 64/71/13, at least thats what he said on CompD
