PPE defuel?

Been looking at the PPE downloader for the 05 and was wondering how it knows when to defuel. Also is this DL worth looking into or should I place my attention on some other power adder? I searched the PPE on here and didnt come up with any definitive answers on the quality of their product. TIA!

Ppe

I have the PPE HOT. I haven't got the Scary Larry to work right yet, but I did have the CLDL and it is stronger than that so I would put it somewhere between the two. You can run it with a nice pressure box with good result,... I used an EZ. I've heard the guys at NADP run it and a Dr. Performance with great results. PPE makes quality products.

I thought the ppe and bullydog use the same programming? There are just different colors or something?

XZT, PPE Stack

Theres a Quad XZT said to be pressure only in the classifieds, would that be a good match for the PPE tuner? If I was to purchase the Quad XZT, it'd still be a while before the PPE upgrade, so how will the XZT perform on it's own? TIA

The XZT will work well by itself and it works well stacked. The XZT is very mild but, it is a great way to start and it will be pretty easy on all the stock components. When you start running the big programmers you will start needing to upgrade other stock parts pretty quickly.

Thanks for the info, and your family is in our prayers. Hope everything is getting toward the Sunny Side! Ooh, before I forget, the guy selling the XZT said it could be sent to you (I guess it'd be you) to have it put back to the stock 65hp setting?

Sure can! Only thing it might cost you is shipping.

Also if it has a stacking flash on it you can run it that way by itself it just won't be quite as good. If it is your first power mod you would like it no matter what!

And thanks, we are feeling good at this point!

I'd say it will work,... any good pressure ONLY box will work well. Be sure it is pressure only and NO timing as the PPE HOT has plenty of that unless you want a lot of injector noise and engine problems.
