Power Braking

Power Braking
Dad's ez on his 2004 is set at the 60 horse level. Do i dare power brake it or will it hurt the tranny. I know what you are gonna say, guages guages guages. well it doesnt heve em and its not getting em. and your gonna say **** kid why do you have to power brake it? well thats it im a kid and i gotta have some fun once in a while.thanks

Power braking will kill the trans if you do it too much. Thats why they spray water at the track to help you get the wheels spinning.
I haven't tried it in mine yet as I have torn up many trans' in my days as a drag racer. I will tell you that the coolest thing I've done was when I had my 98 dualley and I put the EZ on it I too couldn't help but get the tires smoking. Nothing like lighting up 4 wheels..

I have been told EGT's are high on these trucks in stock form, Be careful, but who cares about guages if you won't respect them anyway. What you don't know, will in this case hurt you.

The Trick is to find a smooth road.
use left foot for the brake and right foot for the throttle.
slam on the brake!
full throttle and immediatly start lifting the brake.
The goal is to let off the brake enough to get the rear tires spinnnig, but not enough so that the truck starts rolling.
Once you feel/hear the tires spinning you can actually lift on the brake a little more before is starts rolling.
