Hey guys. Thanks for all he input. I will talk to my friend again on Monday, and see if I cant get that service bulletin number or a copy of the materials that he was given. I will do what I can since I to am wishing so much that this will be true and wont kill my warranty. Thanks.

2006 automatic only

i purchased my exhaust brake from cummins, gave them the information about my truck being off the line before the 2006. had dealer put in to cover warranty. dealer could'nt get it to work, left it at that point. went back to cummins, they stated for 2006 automatic only. would like to hear from people that have the new exhaust brake installed. truck is last of the 2005's 3500 with 48re 4x2 dually. what don't i have in my truck that makes the exhaust brake work in 2006?

http://www.jakebrake.com/products/ld-exhaust.php

that might help, if it was a true "engine" brake that would be cool, but as it looks like its just an exhaust brake, either way makes for safe towing and less wear n tear on the service brakes

Jetco,
You must have an install problem. The brake will work on all the trucks stick or auto. The problem is with the 48re. It has a problem with a thrust washer and possibly the torque converter not lasting to long with the use of the brake on 2003-2005 models. The fix was realized but there was not enough room in the ecm of those model years to install the programing to to work the trans in sync with the brake. You can install the Jake on any year truck, Dodge or Jacobs just will not warrenty the engine or trans when it breaks. Now like I said on another post, if someone would talk Jacobs into designing an add-on controler that will sync with the trans and engine on those models, that would be the " Holy Grail "

Jetco,
If you dont have the installation manual, this may help--
http://www.jakebrake.com/support/doc...0E2_Screen.pdf

Use it to diagnose the problem. I believe yours may probably be electrical.

Your 05 does not have the software to turn on the Brake,You will have to add a manual switch to make it work,
