poll what oil do you run in you engine
#77
Delo 400, the only thing availible in my area. I've been changing my oil every 3k, and I see most people are changing at 5-10k. I have 30k on the truck and woundering if I should change my intervels to 5k or 10k, also if I should switch to a synthetic oil.

Delo 400 and Stratapores....but been thinking lately about switching over to Supertech and Frams. But, it would have to be the CI4+ Supertech, cuz I really don't want to run the new CJ4 and blow my engine.

I used to run the Delo 5W40 synthetic, but no i can find it a decent price so im runningf the shell rottela T 15w40. Was gonna try the Rottela 0W40 but not sure if it was gonna be good for the dodge. So i stuck with the 15W40

If you're ever close to a UFA (I think there are a few in Sask), buy it (Delo 5W40) there...something like 21 bucks a gallons last time I was there.

I was using Royal Purple in mine, but a certain someone (UOA) CO. told me that the 5.9 cummins doesn't seem to care much for the Royal Purple; so me being a dummy, dumped it after 250 miles on it. Dont know how much of that I believe, but I didn't have any reason or knowledge to argue. So, I am using Rotella!

I run the cheapest oil I can find. Right now its Mobil Delvac, I was able to buy for $5 per gallon. I've got about 15 gallons left and I'll be on the lookout again.
The CTD is really easy on oil,you don't need anything fancy to get good results.
I'm tempted to run Wal-mart's Supertech and run a UOA on it. Just to prove all the naysayers wrong that say you can't get good results with inexpensive oil.

Hell yes you should change your OCI. For the 5.9,Cummins recommends a 7500 mile OCI under severe conditions and 15,000 for non-severe.
3000 is a total waste of money and oil that isn't getting any cheaper.
