Tried Rotella synthetic 5w40 and changed it out after just 3300 miles and went to Amsoil 5w30 HDD.

Ive been running amsoil 15-40 for about 25K and there is 40k on the truck. i live in new england so 1 day its 90*F and the next is 10-15*F( doesnt drop past that to Often) and if i head north snowmobiling we can see -5*F or so. Is this good to be running that wieght oil? I have never had a starting issue it always started and its never been plugged in to help. I usually go about 7k-10k every oil change and it will usually drop about half or so(sometimes less sometimes more) on the safe mark on the stick. Is any of this good or bad?

Ran Rotella in everything but now Premium Blue cause thats what Cummins recommends.
