No cat = loud
No cat + no muffler = even louder

Don't think there's any problem unless you live in an emissions testing state/city.

Its not too bad with a stock turbo. With a bigger turbo, (bigger exhaust housing) i had a pretty bad drone. With twins its just right

I have an 03 with no muffler or cat and it sounds good except at 75, anything over or under is fine, just 75 is loud.

Texas does not do emissions testing on diesel trucks. It is a safety check only for $14.00.

If you have a 6-speed it's an HO which means it's not a Cali SO which means no CAT. Only a muffler and it is

SUPER LOUD

if you take the muffler off. You will see. During the day it's not so bad but if you leave out early in the am you will wake the dead!!!!!

And there are no retarded/dumb questions here. Only retarded/dumb answers sometimes....

I run stacks on mine, used to be straight but man it got obnoxious after a year or so, now I have a muffler on it and its still loud, but it sounds so good I don't wanna touch it any more, unless someone trades me for a full 5" exhaust. I know many of you have seen my vid, and I will make more down the road, but here is a sound clip letting you know how loud they can be even with a muffler. The noise is about the same coming out a stock tailpipe, but its location makes it a little quieter in the cab. The stacks let you know every sound the truck makes.
