Question Please help identify this turbo

[IMG] [/IMG] [IMG] [/IMG] [IMG] [/IMG] [IMG] [/IMG]

Hey, sorry the pics are such bad quality they were taken with a cell phone. This is the turbo a friend of mine is running on his truck. The guy he purchased the turbo from knew very little about it. We are not sure who makes it , the size, or any specifications. The only identification on it is the numbers in the first pic (2004 and 506492.) There may have been some more numbers inside the exhaust exit , but they were ground off. Looks similar to the turbos from Industrial Injection, HTT, and every one else for that matter. I have heard it called B-1 , B-1 steriod, and the original B-1. I personally do not know enough about these turbos to positively identify any of them. I do know that this thing spools very fast, seems to cool very well, and makes 55psi. to 58psi. when all the programs are set to kill. I hope this is enough info for someone to identify this thing. I will try to answer any ?'s you guys may have. Thanks in advance!! John

Turbo

It does look to be a variant of the B-2. I have a HTB2 62/12 that looks like it except with a wastegate.

Turbo

Looks to be a B-1 from TAD with a 61-62mm wheel on the intake and a 10 blade 71mm on the exhaust what other people are calling, super phat shaft and low drive pressure wheel. The exhaust housing I do not know what non gated housings they use but probally in the 14-18 cm range

Turbo

IMO a 62mm turbo will not support 650-700 HP on fuel only, with the right setup on NOS you might get there but if your looking for for over 600 HP on a single turbo, would go with a 66mm with the large 71mm turbine wheel or a turbo like, II Silver Bullet, do not know the specs on that turbo but probally close to the 66/71 only proven to support more HP.Now with that said every truck I build over 600HP I go with compounds still IMO that is the only way to get big numbers on fuel only and no drugs but some will argue the point.
