Please Help.... Daystar Leveling kit 2WD
I recently purchased a 2.5" leveling kit from DayStar and I have a few questions. I went to a place to have this installed and several people are telling me that this kit is going to cause long term issues for me. From what I understand the Alignment will be messed up from the Control arm not being long enough. And I need to buy aftermarket control arms or I will eat my tires like crazy and everytime I hit a bump my car is going to be making terrible noises and do damage to my suspension. I dont know if I can fully trust the source because they are telling me the only way to lift and level the truck is to buy a full lift kit, and that going to cost me $1500 to $2000.
I also hear that if I am going to go this route then the 1.5" level kit does less damage??? I really can't stand that my truck sits so low and I want to do something, but I dont want to ruin my truck causing me more trouble down the road.
Please give me your opinions on the choices I can make here and what experience people have had with these kits.

I have heard the same. Above 2" the front end geometry can't be brought back into spec so expect a little more tire wear.
Also I think there will be some ball joint binding so trimming is required.

I really dont mind the tires being eaten up 5k miles earlier. I just dont want to do damage to the car that costs big bucks in the next few years.
What other options do I have. I see that Fabtech makes a lift for the truck and CST, but then my dilemma is that I cant get my truck into my parking garage at work...... Problems Problems....

I have the two inch Daystar leveling kit on my 2004 2wd dually. It has been on for just over one year with no problems at all. I don't hear any noise, see no uneven tire wear, or anything out of the ordinary. Maybe you can trade for the two inch kit. I have pics in my gallery to show how much it leveled the truck.

I have the 2.5" kit and haven't had any problems. Been that way for almost two years. I don't really seem to have issues with tire wear and the truck aligns fine. When I put them on I called Daystar and they told me that I didn't need to change control arms.

I installed my 2" kit myself, took about an hour to do both sides, alignment will be off so get in on the rack very soon. 1 yr. and 37,000 miles with no problems and no unusual wear at all.
