Placement Of Egt Sensor W/ Exhaust Brakes
Will The Engine Egt Sensor From Edge And Others Be Harmed By The Pressure Increase From The Exhaust Brakes?
I've Been Wondering About This. There Is A Place To Put The Sensor On The Pac Brake Down From The Butterfly Valve. Pac Says To Not Put The Sensor In The Oriface Hole Upstream From The Butterfly Because Damage Could Occur. I Don't Have Any Problems But Wondered If Anyone Has.

the pyro will not be damaged from pressure. the brake adds 60psi of backpressure, your drivepressure can exceed that sometimes.
if pac says dont put it in the elbow, i wouldnt.
mine(and most others) are mounted in the exhaust manifold.
you could mount in behind the brake in the downpipe, but have to remember to add 300* to the reading to get closer to an actual measurement.
