Fire Hazard

i haul alot of hay for our horses in the back of my truck and was think that i would have a fire hazard in my truck. anyone know if i am just being an **** firefighter or am i right and should stick to what i have? i know they make the cover but will that stop the hay from getting under there? Thanks,

I've hauled hay with no problems, but for no longer than 15min on the road. No problem then but NO PLASTIC!!! I had 2 plastic 5 gal buckets back there and they formed to the pipe. THey came off easy, but left a little baked residue that won't come off. I just steer clear of the pipe area for precautionaries.

cool i don't haul in the bed very far about 10 miles when i get more than one bail i take the 25' flat bed so if it will make 10 mile great. but what about the crappy plastic bed liner. or should i scrap that before i stack it and get a spray in?

I'm not sure, but I would cut the bedliner about 2 extra inches in diameter around the y-pipe. I have a rubber mat in my bed and it butts up to the pipe, but after 2 months and 4,000 miles no problem yet. The pipes in the bed sit up about 2 inches above the surface, and make no contact with the bed. But spray-ins sure are sweet, and I know they can resist the heat better.

i went and look for the new 4500 and 5500 dodge to day and they told me that they weren't out yet anyone know if they are cause the guys that i talked to looked and acted like they should be working at a honda dealer. i also drove the new 450 ford and it was very nice. but i will wait and see how it works out before i buy it and it turns out like the 6.0 P.O.S.
