Pics of mounted Commander

I received my A-pillar mount from Quad yesterday so I finally got my Commander mounted. Couldn't finish the install because its been raining off and on, but I shot a couple of pics with the Commander mounted in the A-pillar mount. I'm happy with the results.

Thumbs up Nice!

Very clean installed product. Things have come a long way from the individual analog pillar mounted gauges of my year.

Yep, its an iWay 500c. I've had it almost 2 years now and love it. Its easy to use, has a huge screen that is really clear and bright, and packs plenty of features. I paid $650 at the time, and in my opinion it was the best bang for the buck (the comparable Garmin units were $150-$200 more).

Cool. Ive been wanting a gps navi system but cant decide if i should got this route or get a combo DVD/Gps navigation system. Can you take the iWay out and put it in another vehicle fairly easily?

Yep. Just release the suction cup from the windshield, pull the plug out of the cigarette lighter (it also comes with the parts to hardwire it to the vehicle) and reverse this proceedure in the other vehicle. Piece of cake.

The antenna is built into the unit and works really well. I've used it in a motorhome with a near vertical windshield and it worked flawlessly.

Is it hardwired into the back of the unit or does that just plug in as well? If i were to hardwire it to my truck (to keep from having wires everywhere) could i unplug it from behind the unit and using the cigarette lighter piece, plug it into another vehicle, leaving the hardwired pieces in there places for when i return?
Sorry to hijack your thread.

Yep. The cable can be unplugged at the back of the unit also. So you could hardwire it into multiple vehicles.
