I have looked into Banks and I like what they have such as the Hoss Kit, but I don’t know if it is the best out there. I like that Banks boasts of lower smoke output (less wasted fuel), but as I said I don’t know if it is the best for the money. Being in the military I am trying to be tight with my money, but I would rather get something good now instead of wanting to upgrade later. If anyone could recommend what parts (exhaust, air-intake, programmer(s), ect) that would be the best I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again and if you need anymore info just let me know and I will get back to you.
Thanks for your service. The single best mod is a SMARTY ECM programmer. You can use it at power levels the truck can handle and then as your mods and power needs grow the programmer will grow along with you with all sorts of great programs. $685 and a 5 minute installation is a great place to start. You'll also want an EGT gauge.

I also like the edge juice with attitude. Nice for a truck that doen't want to go to crazy in hp. Also do not like the A3k, I would go with something more like a 64 12 or 62 14. Only charger I like from ATS is the 5k and it is still a pain to put on.

So gauges are something I did not really think about, but I think I am going to look at getting those first, what does everyone recommend? Like transmission temp, EGT, and boost? Also is the Smarty stackable and if so what should I stack it with if I was going to go that route? My Dad has an Edge programmer and he loves it but I would like to try something else, I am glad that I asked about Banks items, again thanks for the help.

Most go with the tranny temp, egt, and boost 3 pillar. Yeah the Smarty is stackable and most guys on here use the TS MP8 to go with it but you'll probably need a transmission before then

The Smarty is stackable. The Smarty is acutally downloaded through the OBD II port, just like the factory or dealership uses to load software and check for problems. It works amazing for any truck from stock to fully modified. If you are going to stack I persoanlly don't like the Edge as much as I like the Quadzilla products. Those tuners work different and remain plugged into different sensors in the truck. The one good positive is that most adjust on the fly while the smarty does not. Using the Smarty as a base then adding an adjustable tuner is fine.

Four gauges a pyro (egt) is must, boost is nice to know. The more mods the more you want to monitor. If you get a Quadzilla or Edge you can get a digital monitor that will give you all the guages imagineable.
