Part out my 03 for 5600 bucks?
Well the insurance company wants $5600 for me to buy back my totaled 03. That's a bit more than I really want to pay, but I can do it. Basically the engine, trans, axles, shafts, transfer case, any front and rear end suspension components and the interior can be sold. I don't know exactly what I could end up selling all of it for, and how fast I could get it all sold. If I did decide to go through with it I would like to have all or most of it gone within 30 days. I just don't know of paying almost 6 grand when I might make just a little bit more than that will be worth it. Opinions?
EDIT: I am NOT selling ANY aftermarket parts.

shuldnt be to hard to part it for $6k or more...
hell, if you sold the cp3/turbo for $1k each they'd sell quick...
tst & ppe, theres another quick $1k
blow the drive train out cheep... move it quick, then sell whats left for the price of scrap steel..
easy profit.

I won't take low-ball offers anyway, I know this stuff is worth a lot to people in this sport. If I am only going to make a profit of 500 or 1000 bucks it's not worth it to me.

Was that the ins company final offer? They wanted me to pay 7800 to by back my 04 when i wrecked it. I negotiated the price down under 4k to buy it back. See if they will go lower, but id say evan at that price its worth it. Im sure you can find someone to buy the whole thing for $5K or part it out if you have the time.
Im sure the motor/tranns and computer/wirring harness would be worth 5K to some one with a project in mind.
Sage CArli bought mine and is building a real nice BAja truck out of it. Im sure someone out there will take it off your hands.

Hmm, it's still kind of hard to sway it the other way at this point. I've still got another day or so before I have everything finalized so I'll see what other replies say.
Another question, if I sell the trans does the clutch go with it? I've got an FE in it that has about 5-7k on it with no passes down the dragstrip or hooks to the sled. I thought I read somewhere the trans could go for 1500, but I don't know if he was saying that's by itself, or with a clutch, or with the FE...

The trans is worth about 1000-1500 as it sits with no clutch.
The clutch is another matter you could probably get around half your money out of it depending the condition.

He has the NV4500 5 speed in that truck I think.
Regardless of buying it back or not are they going to let you take off all of your aftermarket parts?

$6,000 isnt worth it to the average guy, but if you can get them down to $3,500-$4,000 I think you should buy it back.
Its gonna be tough for you to turn a profit w/ a $6k buy back
