How are yall painting them? Actual airgun or with spray paint? Also, how are yall detailing the lettering? With a small brush?

 

How did I do mine?......... Paid a local custom motorcycle paint shop $250!

 

I did mine rattle can.. lol dupli-colors engine enamels.. gotta love em.. sanded down to scuff it up.. little primer.. then a silver coat.. let it dry fully.. then masked off the letters i wanted silver and cut them out with a razor blade.. then sprayed it green.. i love the way it looks.. now i gotta do my arc flow and my turbo piping..

also rattle can and Testors model paint with a small brush...

 

I don't have a decorative cover. Its all one piece so the truck would have to be down while I was having it painted. There's no plastic cover over the valve cover anymore.


But now you got me guys thinking about trying to get it done anyway.

You can still paint an '06 valve cover.

 

I can't see pics (above). Is it as simple as takin out the screws, painting, and screwing it back in?

I've been thinkin of doing it to match my intake horn as well..

 

Four bolts and the oil filler cap hold it on. That's it..

I know it can be done, I just don't like being without the truck. But the more of these I see, the more I want to have it done.

I've thought a few times about buying another cover for my 07, doing the paint work and swapping it out.

I don't want anything fancy, I just want it red like the factory covers you could get for the ISB.
