I am researching some install positions of gauges in the new ride. Has anyone tried this overhead windshield mount system? Should I just stick with A Pillar?

Jason, why don't you go with a all in one type set-up like the edge or Quadzilla Commander/scout?? Having gauges way up there are a pain and IMO are dangerous. It's nice to not take your eyes off the road. I love my Quadzilla Commander and it has every read-out I possibly will ever need.

Call me old school (Dr. Evil already did) but I like analog scales. Digital doesn't really appeal to me. But I will look into it.

Here are mine. I like them overhead, it's just like looking up at the mirror. Can still see the road and check the gauges at the same time.

I use this same pod. I liked it first just so I could keep my handle on the A pillar. Now I just like it. The only issue I have come across is the length of wire for the pyrometer being just long enough to reach.

Agreed. If you go overhead make sure you get longer pyro wires and a longer boost tube. You need at least 12 foot lengths. Who ever you get your gauges from can supply you with the longer connections.

I absolutely loved my old gauges in the 01 until I got the Commander. I was really on the fence to go old scool too with my 07' until the price difference and my wife told me otherwise.

Old school = $1100.00
Commander = $300.00(used with pod on the DTR)

I love the digital gauges now that I have them. The money saved got me a Smarty POD too.

I am an Isspro fan, but those Dipricol gauges sure look nice. How do you like them? Good lights in them?

Those pyro, rail and fuel pressure gauges with sensors are really expensive these days with our horrid dollar!!!!

Which gauges are you gonna run Jason??

I really like the Dipricols. Both during the day and back lit at night. Two reasons I went with them over the isspros. First the wiring harness that you get with the kit has dimmers for each gauge so you can tweak the lighting of each individual one. Second I didn't like the little external boxes the isspros required for the stepper motors, that was just something else to have to hide under the dash. The complete kit for the Dipricols including dang near everything you need ran me about $550 (American, Lord knows what the exchange rate does for you guys up north).

DD, I was only going to get a triple overhead for the same layout as Cujo, Pyro, Boost and Tranny. I don't anticipate any big fueling for it, so I doubt I need rail pressure. I was going for a light for the low fuel pressure, don't need a gauge for that IMHO..

I got 4 gauges (60 and 100 psi boost, tranny and pyro) for 550. plus the cost of the pod and a can of paint.

I really like the dash pod. Keeps your eyes on the road.
