outlook problems
I installed my outllook monitor last night and noticed that the truck was running a little rough, even stock. I then used the downloaded to put in the performance program and then the truck ran terribly, rough and didn't start well. Check engine light came on and there was a camshaft performance code in the ECU. Went back to stock and the problem persisted. I then disconnected the map sensor hookup from the monitor and plugged the factory one in and the codes no longer appeared and the truck ran fine. ( This was in stock mode) So then I tried downloading the performance program again and other than the brake and ABS lights being on for a little bit, it runs fine. I messed with the truck type on the monitor thinking that I had picked the wrong vehicle but there are only two options wchich is different from the picture in the directions. 98.5-2005 Dodge with module and 2003-2005 Without. I tried both to no avail. The directions show a truck option for 2003-2004 dodge, I'm wondering if A: I got the wrong or bad monitor, or B: my harness is bad (I hope I don't have to change that again) HAs anyone had similar problems? Any help would be great since BD is closed on the weekends. P.S. I did get lots of smiles from the extra power but until I get this monitor problem fixed I can't explore it.

I drove through Aberdeen to have the engineers look at the problem, turned out I just had a bad monitor. They replaced it in 15 min and it is working great. Ran to Great Falls, MT at the 90HP setting on the downloader and got 18 MPG going @75-80 MPH on the interstate. I was going to mess with the downloader on 130 hp setting coming back but my wife and I got the flu so the drive back was BAD. . We made it back alive and I got 19.4 MPG with 25% 2 lane driving and lot of pit stops with the truck ideling. With stock exhaust I was seeing @525 deg F at 75 MPH OAT was a cool 25 deg. I can max out EGT and have the monitor defuel fairly quick so next is exhaust.
