Talking Ordered my first round of goodies today...

I ordered my first performance parts today- Predator/Power Puck combo, MBRP cat back duals, AirRaid intake, and commander monitor. All this will be going on a bone-stock 06 3500 mega cab. Anyone see any potential problems with this set-up? My goal was to get the most power I could without having to replace the tranny. I regularly tow a 5k# boat, and occasionally tow a 10K# equipment trailer. I can't wait to bolt all this on, max out the settings and let 'er rip...at least once! But I intend to keep the puck set on "tow" and the predator, on one of the lowest settings for daily use.

Good luck with the trans! They have a hard time with factory power. Eventually it will go out. Not to try to scare you or be an Edited by admin about it, its just that they are pretty maxed out with stock power. I would at least try to do a shift kit, it will lengthen its life a little. If you are anything like me, just knowing the power is there makes it hard to keep off the pedal! Im on a stock trans. now but i plan on getting a built one asap. But for real, at least try to do a shift kit if not an entire valve body. It wont turn it into a 1000 hp trany but it will help a little with slipage. Good Luck!

Thanks for the advice- I'll look into that. I have also heard that a TC lock-up kit can help. Know anything about those?

Dont forget a valve body, but i did run propane, edge, intake & exhaust on a stock tranny for lots of hard launches with no problems...before i did the rest of my mods which included a transmission but its still a gamble

conventional wisdom says 90 hp max 60 hp more long term. VB/TC needed, for more (or even 90 hp extended) more than 500 hp, will start breaking parts eventually, first things to replace are input and flex plate. Talk to tranny builders, my favorite Goerand bros, most others HTS (at the moment) Other good ones, DTT, Dunrite, maybe ATS, certainly Suncoast. You'll pick a favorite after talking to the "big 5", go with your instincts (and common sense + these forums are good)

X2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Flex plate/Torque converter/valve body will go a very long way. Stay away from boosted launches and your input shaft should be fine. Talk to all the above mentioned companies. Good/helpful people all around. Get the info and you'll make the right choice easy.
