Optimum Valve setting Specs

I see all the posts on valve adjustment and I'm going to adjust mine this week.

I see .010" on the intake and .020" on the exhaust as standard.

Is there an optimum setting between the minimum and maximum that gives best performance?

Stock cam = .010 and .022-.025
Helix = .008-.010 and .018-.020

Thanks Don! I'm stock so it's just a tad looser on the exhaust than factory spec.

Anyone else done other than spec valve lash settings on a stock cam 05 5.9?

Any performance versus noise comments?

Nope, what Don gave you is the straight dope... or correct advice...

I went to .010 and .020 myself on the stock cam though.

I just ran mine when i replaced the sticks, i went loose 8 on the in, and tight 18 on the ex (old school racers trick, tightem them up for a little more lift and dur...
