Ok guys, help me get over 600HP
As some of you may know I finally took my truck to the dyno. With all the mods I have ( refer to signature ) I made 574 HP and 1002 FTLB of torqe. What mod can I do to reach the 600 HP mark?

Well, I know a guy running the same year truck, with very simular mods and he dyno'd around 640hp. Here are the few differences:
1. He has 90hp Extrude Hone tips.
2. The 71mm exhaust wheel.
3. A Floor It stage 3 pump.
I don't think he even runs a pressure box. Just runs the Smarty pressure turned up all the way.
So you are either choking on the exhaust side of the turbo, or lacking in rail pressure. Prolly a combo of both, but I don't think the 65mm exhaust wheel is a good "High HP" application. You are at or exceeding that wheels hp peak. The 71mm will get 650hp at max with a 64mm inducer. I don't think the injectors are playing a roll in the hp difference.

The 1.8s made 115hp when I still had a single turbo.

The answer to your question, IMO, is the cp3. That turbo might run hot over 600hp, but I don't believe for a minute that it won't allow it to dyno a good number. I hit 648hp with a A3k turbo which is smaller. It got way too hot, but it made the number on the dyno.

i also agree the cp3 may be struggling, especially on a truck with higher miles. your combo is 600 capable so try tweaking the tuning more and dyno on a cool morning. 25 hp can be the difference between early in the day vs late or at what rpm the hammer was pushed. i have seen consecutive runs which graphed 30-40 hp different. a 71 wheel is also a great suggestion and will keep those backpressure figures more user friendly, but i think you can achieve those figures without spending money.

[QUOTE=sallyman1;2511832]get a C-15 cat and youll have 600hp.[/QUOTE
great idea, considering Caterpillar is not even in the on highway market anymore due to not being able to meet emissions.
Back to the question though...I have seen a few dyno sheets of guys making right at 600 or just a few ponies over on a stock cp3. So your injectors must be why it cant deliver the fuel due to the higher volume of fuel theyre demanding? Does that sound correct?

another vote for info on your smarty settings...... you may also wish to get the race tune....... race tune alone, I hit 571, I have the quad box now stacked for a lil pressure, and am supposed to be getting the new rp gauge whenever it ships. each truck is different, try sw 7, with the mp8 on about halfway, and then sw9 mp8 half way up.

Smarty POD Revo, SW 9, TQ 3, TIME 3, RP Default, MP-8 50%. My problem was the RP was on default. Default = 2 ,not stock. My rail pressure was through the roof, 30K. I did not look at the boost gauge or egt gauge because I was freaking out over the rail pressure. I should have had the RP set to 1, which is stock or off. Next time I'll put a video camera on my egt, rp, and boost gauges so I can see how they all react.
