ok gauges in now what power adder
ok finally got gauges in there great, now looking for more power. I like all the options with the smarty but plan on towing lots and it does not appear towing software going to be ready anytime soon as well as from what i've seen nobody's towing with the beta software so next option is the xzt box. Would like to know what this adds (timing, pressure?) Does it do boost fooling? If I was to add a boost fooler will it through codes. If I dont have a programmer to erase codes am i stuck in limp mode until a dealer can help.

I like the Xzillaraider better than the XZT, because you have 3 HP settings. Mine is the standard box. 30/60/100 HP. I think it does boost fool and it does add timing and pressure. I tow some, but I got it mainly for mpg's. So far I go 3 more mpgs. funning on 60 setting and I punch it from time to time. I threw a couple of codes when I hooked it up, but figured out that I crimped a pin inside one of the connectors, and the codes didn't show after I fixed it. I am very pleased with my mods, but you situation looks like it calls for more towing than I do. CDinNM has alot of wisdom with this I think. Just my .02

I tow on sw5 moderate TM with smarty and it is good enough to wait. Lots of top end. If you drive sensibly, smoke isn't terrible and it pulls great. When I get over 12-15klbs I lower to sw#3 and its so much better than stock. One of the features I like is that I know emissions are going to get terrible and the half-power level may prove quite useful.

i like the smarty for towing. i was having to pull the boat stock and hated it. i was very disappointed with the performance. with the smarty on #5, i could take a small grade at 90 with little effort, i dont know if it wouldve done it stock!

I tow heavy with Smarty on 9. I think my egts are down a little bit from stock. Just watch that gauge and dont' put your foot thru the firewall.

sounds good i was under the impression that using a programmer was going to raise egt's and limit my speed up steep grades that is why i was considering the xzt box as it sounds like it was designed a little more for towing in mind but using the smarty gives me more options down the road should i deceide to upgrade further . Would like to hear from more people using either for towing and their results

i run the predator on the rkl tune with the edge hot juice when towing all the time runs great just have to watch how fast you put the pedal down when passing and such. egts are totally cold never get above 750 deg. pulling at 75-80mph. post turbo.

I would not trust that post turbo reading especially when towing. At full boost your post turbo readings are going to be substantially lower than pre-turbo readings at the same boost level. If you keep towing like that I promise you will melt your charger.

thanks for all the info plan on getting programmer or box next week still cant deceide on smarty or xzt has anyone tried both and found one wat better than the other for towing as in keeping egt's down. I can hit 1200 + towing with everything stock right now cant see adding box is going to lower that as suggested. Almost wish i didn't have gauges now and go back to the way i was towing (foot to the floor) HAD NO IDEA
