Oil Bypass Help Needed

I am going to install an oil bypass system, to create some room on the right side of the engine, which amsoil kit is the basic kit for our trucks? I think it is the bmk21, it isn't very clear on the website but there is an adapter to eliminate the stock oil filter with an adapter and have the new filter at a remote location isn't there? Also I want to tee in an oil pressure line to monitor the oil pressure, is there a better spot to do this or does it matter? Thanks in advance, Jay

I think the new kit you're looking for is the BMK-25. It has the bypass filter and the full flow filter in a remote location, and eliminates the need for the stock filter.

The BMK-21 uses the stock filter location and runs a bypass line to a remote bypass filter. This kit was formerly known as the BMK-11.

Spend some time thinking about the mounting location. I mounted mine between passenger-side battery and the firewall using a bracket I fabricated. Far and away the best location in my opinion.

Here's the link to my thread on the Cummins forum with pics:

I need to get rid of the stock filter and use an adapter there, I am thinking the bmk25 is the way to go, has anyone had any issues with low oil pressure with this setup? Jay

That was a problem with the early BMK-15 units, sending low oil pressure codes. I believe Amsoil solved that issue when they put out the BMK-11, which is now the BMk-21. The BMK-25 is really a BMK-21 (or old 11) with the addition of a full flow filter. Shouldn't have any codes thrown for low pressure.

If you are running an after-market air intake set up, you can remove the plastic shield that is stuck on the fender and mount it on the inner fender brace pointing down. It is not touching anything weird.

I just added photos in a thread above this, check it out.
