Oil Analysis With Uni Two Layer Filter
I got my results today on my latest oil sample.
The one thing I messed up was the oil brand but Blackstone figured it out for me.
I was looking at all the containers from the last oil change and since I pour it into one liter containers from the 4 liter jugs, I zoned on what I put in...long story, late night when I changed it.
At any rate...5 PPM of silicon with just a shade over 10,000 miles or 16,000 kilometers.
I am trying another brand now. Its Canadian Tire Diesel 10W30 that I am told is blended by Shell and it comes in the exact same container except the color of the jug and the label.
I will run it for 11,000KMS or about 6500 miles as suggested.
I used this grade and brand for the cold climate and reviews.
There will be a jpeg in my gallery when its approved.
This oil analysis is as low as ANY of my factory paper element tests of ANY of the previous trucks. I have been in extreme dusty conditions as well as normal highway driving.

Scotty, Great results!!!. Not much snow makes it really dusty these days and the wind. 55 mph all day today. Had to drive with the 4 ways on to be seen. ks

Nope, this is with the Scotty 3 that fits the 03/04 trucks built before Jan1/04.
The prior oil analysis this year was from the Shaker with two single layer UNI filters. I think it netted 7PPM silicon and I never cleaned those filters for a year!
I also found a mileage improvement even though I never watched that for a long time...my foot was in it too much.
Scotty 3 over the stock box netted a solid 1.8 MPG calculated on my truck empty on the highway.
The shaker never got any mileage measurements. I might do that next season.
The shaker is getting some reworking after running it for a full year. Fine tuning the fit, the look and the function.

I am sending out a system for testing on the KORE truck in Baja. Kent will report what he finds or does not find...if ya know what I mean.

Must be. My silicone levels are about the same year round. I'm on my second filter and roughly the same results with both. Maybe I just suck more than most. Easy....I know what your think'n.
