OFE and notchy shifting?
I had the OFE installed and changed the trans fluid with factory oil at the same time. The trans now shift notchy and I'm having a harder time getting into reverse, second at a stop, and on the two/three shift. Pedal travel is good and the fluid level is ok. Is it possible that the ferramic lining on the OFE is causing enough extra drag when not engaged (clutch in) and during shifting that the synchro's are taking slightly longer to match speed? I'm assuming that the clutch disc is taking longer to reduce speed and draging the input shaft along for the ride due to the more aggressive ferramic facing on one side. Has anyone else noticed this?
Richard
BTW, this clutch will flat take some HP!!!

Got the same issue.
I have the DD 3850 FE front, Ceramic rear disc.
A trick for getting it into reverse:
Put it into first let out slightly on the clutch, just enough to get the truck to edge up about 1".
Then throw'er over into reverse. It will go in with no issue.

I guess I wasn't prepared for slower shifting from a performance single disc. At a stop I can get into first, second, or reverse by just applying some pressure to the gate to drag the synchros, letting off and and going ahead into the gate. That part is no big deal. I wasn't prepared for the slow shifting caused by these clutches. I can't believe people actually drag race these things. Any one else having this problem with a single? Does it get better as the clutch wears some?
