The factory muffler on my 04 finally split at the seam... I don't want the truck loud and I planned on going with a 4" Nelson, or Donaldson but I really don't like the way they have to be mounted due to the center in/out... But a couple months ago I walked past one of our work trucks that had a Donaldson on it with an off set inlet and outlet... The only problem is that it's a 4" in 5" out muffler...

My thought was to buy one of the 5" offset mufflers and just put a reducer on the end to mount back up to the 4" pipe... But I am concerned about the possibility of it being loud... I think having it necked back to a 4" pipe should keep it quite, but I'm not sure and I don't want to deal with drone... The only reason I am considering this 5" muffler is because of the offset to allow it to fit up under the truck better.

Also any good sources for a 4" down pipe to replace my 3.5"? I might as well since I will be working in the area...


Anyone run a 5" muffler with a 4" tail pipe? I know a full 5" system is loud, but never heard a 4"/5"/4" set-up...

Donaldson does make an offset muffler with 4" in and out. If I remember right they have 2 different lengths.
