well, it will take a day or two to get the head done, so why not order the head studs from ARP through the net or either by calling them???

I think i have seen a lot of people on here say they had Scheids do them, but Ai qam not sure how far you are away from them. how far are you willing to drive to get it done?

That would give the guys and gals here more info on where they can recommend a good machinest for the job. The main thing you are gonna want is someone who has done it before and does a lot of them if possible.

I've heard you can get a good deal on ARP's from Source Automotive. That's what I plan to do.

well, you have to remove the heqad of course, and it will require an engine hoist, and be a little tricky with the tightness and maneuvarability. I would say two days one to take it apart and one to put it back together. But that would be for me, and on a scale of 1-10 I would give myself an 8, cause there are some things I don't know, but can do most anything i want to.

I reccommend ARP's cause they have been around for a long time, and have proven themselves in the performance market time and time again.

I am sure someone will chime in from the Yankee states with who might be close to you that has done the oring grooving.

The MLS gaskets on the CR trucks have been holing 65+psi with twins...with only studs, no orings! For most people, that is plenty

The only thing you have to do, as far as I know, is make sure the head and deck are FLAT!!

through a load of research I have learned that o-ringing is not needed til your up around taht 65 lbs mark. If you need a good shop not sure if your near pa but there are a couple of shops over here near phila and also one or two I know of in south NJ

ive heard info (not rumors) of some testing with a truck still hodling 75psi on the stock headbolts and MLS gasket...but to be safe, a set of ARP head studs will be enough to about 70-80psi...

again i really wish someone made an MLS gasket for my 2nd gen
