'nother 2006 Newbie

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just wanted to introduce myself. Hi, my name is Dan and I LOVE my new 2006 Dodge. I've been a V-10 Dodge pilot since 1997. I traded that off in 2002 for a QC (old body style) 4X4 V-10. I really liked the V-10 because of its steath (read quiet) but last month traded it off for a 2006 Cummins. I finally did the swap from V-10 to Cummins because of the 3rd gens being quieter than provious models. I couldn't be happier. I'd usually get ~10mpg with the V-10 and now with the Cummins, I'm getting almost 17. I added the edge attitude before hitting 1000 miles and WOW. The V-10 was OK or so I thought but the Cummins is WAY better. The stock Cummins was so much more powerful than the V-10 it wasn't even funny but then you add a power enhancer and LOOK OUT. I'm SO impressed. The power is so awesome-WOW
Anyway, just wanted to give a shout out. This is a great site and thank you for allowing me to join.

4ord422:

Welcome to the website and CONGRATULATIONS on your new truck!

Back in July, I bought a new 2006 myself after trading my 2002 Dodge CTD 24valve truck. I like the new one alot better not to mention that the fuel system is MUCH better than that VP-44 I had on the 2002.

WELCOME DUDE. I'm with you, I got mine in June and yes, it is one mean truck. You will be reading so much on here, your wife will ask why are you spending so muck time on computer, are you chatting with a girl? HeHe! I just bought a laptop to sit by my wife while she watches biggest loser, HGTV and more reality shows I have no interest in. now I can read all about our CTD while she watches whatever she wants. There are some REAL Gurus on here that can answer any question you may ever have. I love this site and the people on it, I'm glad you found it. Search whatever and you will have days of reading. CONGRATULATIONS. THIS IS PROOF THAT GOD LOVES YOU, Hey, Ben Franklin said Beer is proof God loves you, so why not a CTD!

Welcome to the DTR, 4ord422! You'll like it here, really good clean site with TONS of info. There are a lot of brains for Cummins here, if you ever have any questions, just ask.

I'm pretty new to this too...and also had a 98 V-10 a few trucks ago.
The CTD is soooo much more powerfull than that gas sucker!

Even worse was the 8.1L 496cid 02 GMC crewcab 4x4...less than 10 mpg and a 26 gallon tank, I was lucky to get over 220 miles on a tank, and then I was headed straight for the nearest gas station

The first time I filled up my new (used 06) last month and saw that the "distance to empy" on the OH consol read almost 600 miles, I almost s**t my self!

So far you guys have been a huge help for me,
thanks much
chuck
