Normal EGT Readings

Normal EGT Readings
I have a 2006 Dodge Mega Cab 2WD with an auto trans. I've installed an Airaid Intake system, 5" Banks Exhaust system, and the Juice with Attitude. Since there is no stock EGT, I have no idea what normal EGT readings should be. All I know is that since I installed the Juice with attitude I've noticed that the EGT at highway speeds runs around 700 degrees. On hard excellaration I've seen close to 975 degrees. I tow a 27ft 5th wheel and was wandering if I need to do anything else to make sure I don't damage anything as a result of the changes I already made. I am very pleased with the power, performance and diesel mileage. I've averaged 24mpg highway (not towing) if I drive it under 75mph. My city mileage is 18.5mpg. I was told that because of installing the Juice and the Banks exhaust is what is causing the high EGT readings. However, I haven't been able to find anywhere that lists what the EGT readings should be. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I too thru away the stock mount for the Juice and installed a pillar mount that I purchased from Summit Racing. It wasn't a perfect match to the stock gray but close enough. Perfect angle to read and change settings if needed.

your egts look in the norm for what your doing. When pulling the only thing to do to control it, is watch gages if it gets up there 1400 plus back out off the throttle and they will drop. You'll just slow down alittle. Sucks but better the wasting a piston or turbo.
When my truck was stock hwy egts were 600-700 wot top at 1400, with quad std 550-800 hwy takes very little to move the guage wot on 100hp 1500 top out by time I hit 4th gear then back off and it drops to 600ish.
Gauges Gauges Gauges and self control.

I set my Commander to warn me at 1350 and to defuel at 1400. I dont think there is a norm so to speak because it always changes do to temp, load and altitude. If you are nearing high EGT then keep rpm up ( do not lug) or just slow down.

Iv got an 05 with 4 spd and besides the gauges, the only change was a Amsoil dropin.
The EGT s I see are WOT go to about 950.
Cruising is between 6-700* and boost usually sits around 6-8
This is at 70 mph.
Hope this helps.

EGT range when in Regen?
I have an 07 QC 6.7L with a newly added Edge Juice with attitude (Very sweet!!!) My concern is when driving and the REGEN kicks in, how hot is too hot for the EGT? I normally drive with my EDGE in level 3 without a load, so when REGEN happens should I lower the power level in order to help keep the EGT at a lower temp during REGEN?

Most people will agree that EGTs get high up either a steep grade or while hot rodding it with a tuner. So if this is the case wouldnt keeping on the pedal to "keep rpm up" be the wrong thing to do when trying to lower your EGT??
