Non-iPod player - cheapest way to operate in truck?

I got a Creative Zen 30GB MP3 player for Christmas. Anyone have any ideas on connecting it to my OEM SLT stereo other than via one of those FM Transmitter thingys, or am I looking at (at the very least) replacing the stock head unit with one with some kind of an input jack?

I'm also curious about the whole USB interface capability. I'm assuming that would work with non-iPod players as well, no?

In a nutshell, I am looking for the cleanest way to play/charge my Zen player in my truck.

I'm assuming that's going to mean at least replacing the head unit with something else with a USB cable interface, right? So if I'm doing that I'll probably replace the speakers as well. What are the measurements for the SLT speakers in the front and rear doors?

USA Spec and PIE make adapters that plug into an unused CD changer or Satellite radio port in the back of the radio. They run about $100 and eliminate all interference and offer better (but not great) sound quality that you would get with an RF modulator.

Is there such a port on the back of the SLT OEM radio in an 2004.5 truck?

I'm not sure. Do you have a button on the front of your radio that says SAT or does it give you any indication it could control a CD changer?

No - it's the standard OEM SLT package single CD, four speaker setup.

I did go out to Circuit City and Best Buy and found a couple of head units that take USB inputs - one of them even had the actual USB plug on the front. I'm going to go back there and see if my Zen MP3 will interface with the unit via the USB. Looks promising but who knows...

Oh yeah - what are the speaker sizes I should be looking for? I have the four speaker setup with the two in the lower front doors and two in the upper rear doors.

Thanks....
