Newbie Performance Suggestions

I am new to this forum but I am sure that this has been asked before. I have a 2007 2500 with 5.9 CTD and automatic tranny. I pull a 14000 ob. 5th wheel fulltime. I spend part of each year in the mountains of Utah and Colorado. I plan on installing an exhaust brake but I need to know what other performance enhancers are recommended. I would like the recommendations listed in order of importance or the most bang for the buck.

in interested in doing something about the fact that my stock trans shifs like crap, and is all over the place. what the hell is telling this thing what to do?

i'm not interested in pulling it to change a TC, and there's no need to rebuild it at the moment having only 10k.

is there something out there softwarewise or a VB that would firm up shifts?

Gauges for sure. Then Tranny, at least tq and vb Then Go with a box or downloader. There is a huge market in after market pwer adders but I love Smarty! A flow threw exaust and air intake would complimant that stuff very well. Then depending on how carazy or well yuo want your truck to tow I would get a htt 62-12 turbo. That would make a mean tow rig. you would be very happy and could safley tow quite well.

The only option is a tc and vb.....a vb only will not solve the crap tc, only tear it up....so you dont have much choice...i'd say do both or neither and deal with it....

Aside from the transmission: 1) Guages 2)Drop in Air Filter Replacement 3) Replace Muffler 4) smarty jr....

It'll be a whole new truck....
