Newbie Dodge Cummins Lover
Hello Folks,
I am a new owner of a 2004 Quad cab, longbed,CTD and I love it!!! The power is unreal.
I have read thru a lot of forms and find this info very interesting.
A couple of thoughts/ questions.....
Can you add a chip(Edge) and maintain your warranty?
Is there anything that you can modify and not jeapordize warranty?
I saw that a air filter change (KN filter) would increase HP X amount.....Warranty
I think it would be foolish to mess with a good thing and loose
coverage.
Other questions to follow as I enjoy my truck more.
Thanking ya'll in advance,
Rick

Really depends on the dealer you take it too. Some will overlook mild fueling boxes etc..., others will void you warranty on the spot.
Many can now even use a computer to tell them if you have EVER had a fueling box.
Air intakes are probably a little safer. The dealer would have to prove the intake was causing a problem.
The overall theme though seems to be that if you start BOMBing, you become your own warranty station
hope some of that helps, im sure others will add things as well

The greatest thing about the CTD is that you have enough power to do what ever you want to with a regular style pickup. You can change and build them up to what ever you want to, but they are still the greatest stock built pickups for pulling, etc... In the last 26 yrs. I've owned 12 pickups(mostly chevys) and I've never owned a truck as awesome as my CTD! This is my 4'th diesel, and I know from comparisons that this is more than just a regular puller. I know that within the "big three" there really is only one true diesel.
