Talking New twins

Completed the install of a pair of HTT turbos accompanied by a well built kit from MPI. Being my third twin go around in less than 15 months I made it happen in 10hrs or so.
Kit from Nathan was put togther very well, in comparison to my last BD twins I would have to say he has the upper hand. Instructions, welds, bends, drains, boots were packed and ready for attack.
I ordered my kit from Nathan with an external waste gate, this can be a little challenging installing...however I must commend MPI on the fine fitting of the flanges for the waste gate attachment.
One small issue was I had an ATS manifold, their manifolds have larger joint areas then others causing some obstruction for the compressor housing on the secondary....fixed this with a die grinder.

I will post some images of the new deal tomorrow evening.

Testing will start Mar 19, goals will be in the eight hundred +......

So the SuperDave is essentially an S480, right? My truck seems wicked fast with my 62/71/13SS over an S474....I can only imagine how yours is going to be!

I agree, Nathan's kit was very well put together! Can't wait to see the pics and maybe a video, perhaps?

The MPI 62/71/13 S480 kit works really good for the street , everyday driving , Tows like a champ, very friendly , excellent manners , very quick spooling , starts building boost 15-1700 rpm @ 20 lbs boost 1750 rpm + hits 80 lbs boost like a light switch , also pulls way strong up on the top end

onetun I think your going to like your twins , sounds like your hp goals are much higher then mine now

I was initially going to wastegate the S480 and put a 64/71/13 on the top with a set of 4.5 + fluxs & go try for 875 + on #2

instead $$ reality started to set in , I lowered the hp bar to a more reasonable 700-750 RWHP which is plenty for just an everyday driver & part time tow truck !

with small fluxs & 62/71/13 & non wastegated S480 this is the setup nathan recommended for what I use my truck for & it's working out to be the perfect setup for me !

just before the MPI purchase & twins install , I was starting to get burnt out tired & broke replacing & rebuilding transmissions even at just 650 RWHP + when driven HARD tends to tear up auto transmission clutches in short order also have broken a few suncoast billet shafts in the past !

that pretty much was the deciding factor realizing that for an everyday driver for my budget it get's too expensive to try and build a race truck to drive most everyday , just too much power & need to spend too much money to keep things running strong and fresh to make sense for an everyday driver on my budget !

I decided to save some $$ & instead start slowly building a race truck that only needs to run for 1/4 mile at a time. I figured I will be money ahead in the long run not to mention have more fun , then tearing up my everyday driver & dealing with down time etc.

onetun good luck & enjoy those new MPI twins
