New track times and not so impressed... ideas??

Well i went to the 1/4 mile this past weekend and ran a 13.1 1/4 and a 8.4 1/8 mile time. I was really hoping for a low to mid 12sec 1/4 and about a 7.9sec 1/8, because last time i ran the truck it was at an local 1/8 mile track with stock turbo, stock injectors, predator instead of smarty, and stock lift pump, and i ran a 8.5 1/8 which i was pretty impressed with. Now ive dumped a bunch of time and money and did the 90 ddp's, 64/65/13 htt, raptor 150, and smarty tnt and only dropped a tenth of a second?? The truck feels quite a bit stronger, granted i did each mod one at a time so the gains weren't all at once so not quite as noticeable. But i just dont understand why it didnt run quicker, i know those times arent too bad and if i hadnt ran it before i would have been satisfied. Any ideas what could be going on?? The only thing i could think of is maybe i need some cp3 work? My rail pressure seems a bit low but not terrible, WOT it is at about 22 until overdrive then it drops to 21ish. Any input would be greatly appreciated. THANKS

The weather was about 60 degrees and sunny this past weekend when i ran, and when i ran the first time with the stock parts id say it was a bit warmer, maybe 70 or 80 and same conditions. And the times are as follows for recent run with new parts: 60'=1.913, 330'=5.481, 1/8=8.436 @ 82.89mph, 1/4=13.168 @ 103.57mph. And for the old time with stock parts: 60'=1.826, 330'=5.480, 1/8=8.537 @ 80.14mph, 1/4=NA... thanks again for any input, im really trying to find out whats going on here... something aint right. Another thing i noticed was that when i tried to run level 9 (best times were with level 7) it ran like crap when i tried to spool up at the line. It would "spit and sputter" kind of like it was surging or something, sort of hard to explain, and it didnt want to spool up. Level 7 was fine and had no problems... maybe this will help point out my problem. Ive also noticed on the higher setting such as 7 and 9, that when im just driving the truck (not at the track) and get on it hard then let off, it wants to keep going for a good 3 sec or more. You really gotta jump on the brakes to slow it down...

What settings on TNT were you running? 21-22K is lower than mine will do with stock sticks, & CP-3. Mine will do 24-25K on RP-2 Level 9. Haven't tried RP-3 yet.

Hello,

Are you saying that you ran near a 13.1 with only a predator? That is not gonna happen. Looking at the times the 60 foot is much better with the "stock" combo. As a matter of fact 1.8 anything with only a predator does not seem realistic. Seems to me that the original run times were tainted. Not looking to rain on your parade but just looking at possibilities. Hope you find the right answer.

I just ran a 13.72 t 92 mph with a smarty Jr only. They were running a pro tree and I did not know until it was too late. Lost a bit on the 60 on that one. 60 foot losses are huge on the top end.

I never got a chance to run in the 1/4 with my original setup with the stock parts, but i did run a 8.537 in the 1/8 which i was pretty happy with. That was with the predator stacked with the quadzilla and the basics that ive had for awhile (intake, exhaust, and tranny). And all of the runs were on my stock tires not my 33's

i was running level 7, tq @3, timing default, and rail default. The quad was on level 4 (0-5 levels). Im thinking maybe i need cp3 work like an arson kit or something. But ive heard that its not a good idea to put a kit in a cp3 that has 100k miles or more, mine just turned 100k so kinda border line. Id hate to have to spend thousands on duel cp3s or a built aftermarket one... what do you all think about arson kits in higher milage cp3's? worth it?

Where did your 60' go? You slowed almost a tenth there, which is huge, but you did gain 2.7mph at half track, which is pretty good...I'm sure there's more there, but I'd be looking at that 60' first...that's probably at least a .15-.2 at half track from my experiences, and possibly more in the 1/4, but you don't have a previous 1/4 to compare to.

Yes that seems to be my problem. Im not sure why my 60ft slowed down so much. I was told that i should take the shift defuel off next time. Does anyone else have any experience with the shift defuel helping there times??
