Okay just played around with the picture of your lights and the smoked recon third light on PAINT on my computer and they match incredibly well almost identical.

Yeah I was talking to a guy the other day that said the 07 lights were wired differently. I wonder why DCX changes that up? I know the lights look a tad different, but I wouldn't have thought they would change the wiring. The lights are not near as dark as the smoked Recon LED cab lights; I don't really know how dark the 3rd brake lights are. Lemme take a look at the Recon site real quick......

You could modify some spade connectors and such crimped onto some short jumper wires and tie the factory harness onto the taillight. It would look jerry rigged as all get out but it would work.

Thats what i was thinking but then i would have to pull the taillights on my 03 truck and put a test light on each wire and write down exactly what what was and then go to my 07 and put the test light on each of those wires and see exactly what is what their too and match things up then like you said. With some connectors and short pieces of wires. I didnt realize that this was you dieseljunky that had sent me the diagram to do this and i think it may come in handy now thanks and for those who may be interested here it is.

APC led taillights:

driver side (4 wires to 3 wires)

taillamp harness -------------> truck harness

solid green -----------------> black
solid black ------------------> black(same as above)
green+yellow stripe ----------> white+green stripe
green+white stripe -----------> white+yellow stripe

backup lamp (2 wires to 2 wires)

black ---------------------------> black
red+blackstripe -------------->white+greenstripe

passenger side (4 wires to 3 wires)

taillamp harness -------------> truck harness

solid green -----------------> black
solid black ------------------> black(same as above)
green+yellowstripe ----------> white+yellowstripe
green+whitestripe -----------> white+brownstripe

backup lamp (2 wires to 2 wires)

black ---------------------------> black
red+blackstripe ---------------> white+greenstripe

I have a set of lights off Ebay made by DEPO. I have had them on for over a year with no problems. Only cost me around $130 shipped.

I have a set of the RECON smoked LED taillights sitting on dining room table right now. I am working to create an adapter pigtail...the RECON lights are wired for pre-07. Should have pigtail done this week....but the whole "backyard electrician" thing above would surely work too.

If you're talking about my pics (I guess you are; I'm the only one who posted a pic in this thread. Lol) I didn't have the brake lights on. 3rd brake light only lights with the brake lights; It doesn't run all the time.

I have an advanced/prototype set....mainly because I am working with my body guy (did all the custom body/paint work on my Viper) and we're working on a pigtail. You won't need ME to make a pigtail for you ...I am doing some R&D and helping Heath, so hopefully there will be a pigtail that ships for 07's.
