The latest download feels like it has a much more linear throttle response to me, like what the original 4.x beta testers were reporting. It doesn't give 90% of the power in the first 10% of the accelerator pedal range like the previous Smarty downloads. That could explain the lower "Butt Dyno" feelings of the latest version. I think the power is there, you just have to mash the pedal further down to get at it.

I'm really liking the lower smoke levels!

WOW quite an improvement. SW5 used to pull harder in my truck and the truck smoked alot more off the line with SW5 and SW7 almost so much that with a trailer and an inexperienced driver it could be an issue.

Now SW 7 very light puff VERY LIGHT and then pulls hard. throttle is more responsive. motor lugs less and billows very little smoke., actually its hard to get a solid black puff now even when you try to roll into it. Put 300 miles on it today towing and EGT's were about the same mileage is off 1.4 mpg when empty but i was in it pretty hard the whole way seeing how things reacted. pulls 38-40 psi on the stock hy so i can't complain and in SW7 with 10k lbs pulling eldorado hill on highway 50 burried throttle highest egts were 1250

im impressed thanks Marco and Bob, but i bet my clutch isnt thanking you

38-40psi isn't very safe on a stocker, best back down to 35psi, go above that and all you'll gain is extra heat. I too like the way the throttle feels, much more refined.

166k miles & so far she's been ok, it probably is super heating the air a little but rarely does it see over 38, that happens in sub freezing weather -10 and lower and at WOT she'll build a little extra pressure...... anyways i've got a 62/12 in route but shoot my EGT's have never crested 1300 even with the stocker except when running the aftermarket turbo stock injector program

Bob/Marco Just to let you know my 03 SO 250hp ( standard output) also has the problem with the shift light
I don't care it's not really a problem for me. I just want to keep you informed. I think my ac/fan clutch may be cycling more often with the smarty but I'm not sure. When My defrost is on it just seems to cycle off and on, I don't think it did this with 210 but seems to with 211.

It will be fixed tomorrow or next day, they got it figured out.

Just went from 4.10/2.09 (mild) sw9 to 4.11/3.11 (moderate) sw7 (both aftermarket injectors/turbo)and I love it.

That embarrassing smoke is easy to control now. Smooth, predictable throttle response. Sounds better then stock, no timming rattle. Very hard to push the egts over 1150, but this is at 53 psi (twins/pdr cam), And mileage seems to be a little better also. To soon to really tell though

This smarty 4.11 is going to make hauling 27 000 lbs very enjoyable, instead of a smoke belching, high egt nightmare

Bob, is there any pressure added? I was suprised how high my rp was with my injectors. Slowly but surely it got up 24.5k when held wide open. The only other download I have used that would hold 24k was the beta 4.3.

Not impressed with Smt4V411AD211. I have lost very noticeable power, so much so that a stock new Toyota compact passed me going up a 6% grade. I had the pedal matted reaching for the rad with my foot. Boost never went above 25 psi and egt stuck at 1150. On the previous 410 software it easily hit 30 psi and 1350 egt. Yes there was no smoke, big deal. No, there is nothing wrong with the engine or needs attention with my fuel, air filter etc. I travel this mountain hwy (coquihalla) regular and nothing passes me up the grades. I would like to go back to 410 and have the gear indicator lights back............

Why don't you bump up tq managements and try out 3.11 or up? 4.10 is not much different than the 4.11 I think you were expecting too much out of the newer betas.

What I expect is not to lose power upgrading to latest software and along with the gear indicator lights. What I expect is to be able to blow the doors off any "stock" 4 banger gas sub-compact climbing up the same grades as before. I don't think that is asking too much? I don't bump up to tq because my tranny is stock. Yes 4.10 was much more powerful on my 03 HO which is proving to be a problem for smarty upgrades. Perhaps Mads could have a breakdown of smarty downloads for 03-04 305/555 ? If 03-04 have a different ecm/pcm, injectors, wastegate why not a different download? Bob or Marco why????? Don't get this post wrong...I think Smarty is the best thing going for the cummins and fully appreciate the great customer support and continual updates.
