New rubber advice: 285/75R17 Nitto Dura G or 315/70R7 Firestone Destination AT
Both would be in a 10 ply. The 315 would need a 9" rim, so I'd have to buy those and sell the OEs.
Any idea what I could get for the chrome OE rims?
Tires are about the same height.
Truck is an 07 4wd mega cab.
Tow a travel trailer a few times a year.
Will probably get a level kit, for sure if I go with the 315.
Any advice or experiences with either tire appreciated.

I've got the Firestones on my factory alloys. They're wearing great, winter traction (mostly ice up here) is much better than the BFG Rugged Trails, and the ride is smooth without feeling like it's wallowing all over the place. Off-road traction is much better as well, though I haven't had a chance to try it in really deep mud (and hope never to find out!)
I leveled my truck before I went with the 315s, but I did it by lowering the rear so it would still fit in my garage. Only slight contact on the lower control arm at full-lock, and that only happens in parking lots.
I gained mileage with the reduction in gearing by going to the taller tire, but in theory anyway, the 285s would be slightly better with lower rolling resistance.
I think if I was doing mostly highway driving I'd go with the DuraGrappler, but if I was planning for any off-road where it might get slick, I'd go with the Firestone.
