Installed mine two weeks ago. I am very impressed with the smoothness of power delivery and overall power increase. The truck is more responsive and less laggy (is that a word) off the line. Can't wait to pull my trailer (9000lbs) to Mt Rushmore next summer.

Guys be sure to get an egt gauge in the truck before too long. Trust me, it will be hotter than you realized. You can check this thread out for more info

The person silverltd is talking about is me

I love my xzt and the power, but am really afraid i want be able to use all the power when towing heavy because of egts. They climb fast the way i drive.

Thanks for the Warning!!!! I will be getting a Commander here in the Future. I dont really get on it at all right now because of not having an EGT Gauge. QZilla claims that the EGT's are lower than stock at comparable RPM's----- So what you are saying is that this is not true????????

[QUOTE I don't go over 60mph ever. [/QUOTE]

Youve probably already heard this but most of these trucks have a "sweet spot". Mine it, like most right at the 2050rpm range and above OR BELOW i actually get worse fuel mileage.

I also should tell you that I see how important that rpm is now more than ever and I think that is becouse I always leave my juice on 5/5 and now I have the FASS system and I think I got around 2-3 miles to the gallon increase with just that install. The juice mileage setting does nothing for me either. Last tank according to the overhead at 70 mph on the highway the whole time, the overhead honestly read between 19.5 and 21.0 the whole time. I know that they "lie" but I like what mine tells me so I dont question that. BTW I used to get 17.5 to 18.5 before the Fass. Maybe being on 5 on the edge all the time was running me out of fuel.??

Don't get me wrong, im not bashing the product in anyway, but no, that has not been the case for me. I drive hard and i know it, but it doesnt take much playing around to get in the 1300 range. I punched it to get in front of a car this morning on the way to work, 45-75 foot to the floor, 1365 degrees and i let off.

Was it still climbing or did it stabilize at 1365*?

It was still climbing when i let off, but will stabilize soon after that, usually just before 1400 and then drop back down to around 1360 by about 90 or so.

That is still a safe EGT to get to as long as you are not sustaining it-- RIGHT?????

**What have you guys seen while climbing a hill with 8k in tow for a mile or so??? What do the EGT's get to stock compared with the XZT????

A week ago I hit 1400*+ after climbing a long hill (a couple miles) pulling about 9000 lbs of travel trailer. This was with the Quad Xzillaraider Std. on the 60 h.p. setting.

Not sure. I've only had the Commander (EGT gauge) with the Xzillaraider, never on its own.

Correct me if I am wrong, but, doesn't the Commander installation place the EGT probe out at the front of the engine, around #2? The real temp concerns take place at the back of the block, #5 & #6. So if you are seeing 1400* up front, what do you suppose the back end looks like?

Just turn the Zillaraider to the off posn, you will get the normal operating temps.

You are right on the Cylinder #'s for EGT's------the pyro-probe needs to be placed at the #5 and #6 Cylinders to get the Higher EGT's!
