The donaldson is the best choice now.

Anybody got a good source for a 5" tailpipe? Looking at putting the Donaldson M090781 4" in x 5" out on my '06. Specs look good for flow and noise.
Anyone else try this combo yet? Price thru the local Peterbuilt dealer is about $110 for the muff. and only $88 thru Ryder truck supply. Price looks good, just need the tailpipe. Local muff shops can't bend the 5"

Last but not least maybe http://www.expanditperformance.com/ click on the 2003 Dodge and you can order just the tailpipe #4 in the diagram or at least you used to be able to.

Walker Exhaust 54637 Muffler Assembly-Quiet-FlowSS
Anyone using the Walker replacement muffler?
~ $240 includes ss and hangers for easy swap.
Not gonna pay high$ for a OEM. In Michigan, lots of salt.
Those with the 40" or 50" is there room to keep cat?

4040xl Aero Turbine
I have a S/S Aero Turbine 4040XL. Really great sound without being load. Growls when you put your foot on the gogo peddle but zero drone.
Just one more option.

No drone at all with the one I have but I still have the stock cat and pipes if that makes a difference? The Muffler was dirt cheap as well. I'm very happy with the sound.

Ditto on the Donaldson M090535 muffler. As mentioned it is a straight through muffler. Nice throaty sound, no drone. http://www.ryderfleetproducts.com/ry...oductDetail.do

I have the FTE resonator plus a flow pro twister muffler. This is very quiet towing, zero drone.I have run the magnaflow ,gave it away, two mufflers, nice but egts get up there towing 23000lbs GCWR,ALSO A BIT OF A PROBLEM WITH THE CURRENT setup.Starrma did the 090535 D give best dyno results?Js091899 why did you goto the 100580.I have also run the 5x51 with good results ,just too noisy towing heavy for me.

I put a donaldson 51" 5" in/out and used the rest of my factory system from my 04'... The only issue I had was getting a 3.5 (04 down pipe) to 4 adapter...
I went with the 5" because it is considerably cheaper (most common used muffler on semi's) and available at any truck shop. Then just get a couple of 4/5" reducers and bolt on each end. I had to relocate one bracket on the trucks frame, but it was well worth it...
End result, the truck sounds stock or quiter inside, with the slightest hint of deeper then stock sound outside... It's a perfect replacement if you want more flow but not more noise... I wouldn't change a thing...
