New lift pump, what a difference
I just had the Glacier 392 kit with big line kit and 2 micron filter installed. What a difference over the stock pump. Just did 3400 miles with it and here are my findings: my quad box performed better, the truck pulled like never before (only 5000 lb trailer on the back), mileage went up from 3/4 - 2 pg (speed dependent, hand calculated). Best part, if it ever fails just unplug the electrical, put back to the stocker and you are up and running again (only $120.00 for replacement pump). Best mod beside tc and vb I have done. I did the change for reliability as i am on the road 30-40k per year. Did not expect the performance gain but it was VERY noticable, so obviously the stock pump really limits this motor. Made the quad std box act like a different (and better) unit, much more bottom and mid range. Rip at Source Automotive in Portland did a very clean install and no problems. I would assume a FASS or other system would work equally well as we are talking more fuel to the CP3. We normally run the 100hp setting but found the 60hp more than adequate with the new pump. After the install the stock pump showed 8psi and the 392 was 22psi @ idle. I honestly think that some of the guys (like myself) with really poor mileage or those not seeing real strong gains with their boxes have weak lift pumps and would gain a lot with this modification. It effects more than one would think.

whats to it?
I was thinking about doing something to my truck for fule, but its way confusing of what is needed. I have a stock fule system on my 2004 it has the quad race, and scotty airbox with tag and blue tube. What parts are needed, and what do you have to do? Why are there so many difference there are pumps, and hoses and especialy filters, seems like there are half a dozen to chose from?

Great post!! You guys on this website are killing me. I’m going to do the fuel tank vent mod so while I have the tank off I’m putting in a pickup so I can install something like the glacier lift-pump setup in the future.
My GF thinks I’m completely out of control. Wait until I tell her I have to put in a new lift pump BEFORE my stock one goes bad.

I recently installed the GDP 392 Performance pump w/ remote 2 micron filter. My fuel pressure is much higher now with the new pump instead of the stocker pump. 7 vs. 18.5psi at idle. 0 vs. 15psi at WOT with Smarty on level 9.
But so far I can't tell any difference performance wise (seat of the pants meter) or fuel mileage wise. Im going to re-dyno again on April 21st and I hope to duplicate my 466hp/922 tq numbers. Who knows, maybe the GDP will add a little something to it.

No, wait till you are about 200 miles from home and the stock pump goes out. Then remember this thread. No, that's not a good idea either. Hmmm, now what. If you fix it before it breaks she'll think you're crazy. If it breaks before you fix it, it will be very inconvenient. And you may end up with another stock one because you have it towed to the Dodge dealer. Mine quit, Dodge put a new one in, and I ordered the Walbro kit and did it at home. No way was a known problem going to strand me away from home. Well, at least not twice.

I also put this kit on my truck about 2 weeks ago and I have to agree, it is a good investment. I would recommend to anyone (mods or not) if you don't want to be straned on the side of the raod with a dead lift pump...

I just recently had the injector pump and lift pump replaced by the dealer. This was covered under my extended warranty. The lift pump was replaced with the in tank low pressure / high flow conversion. I’m still concerned with the fuel pressure they say this conversion produces and considering the GDP 392 Performance pump but wondering if that will work with the current in tank pump.

Yes Breck-Ram they do have a kit for the in-tank conversion also just check out their site or can order the kit off of this site also in the DTR store.
