New FASS wiring

I just purchased a FASS 150 for my 05 CTD and my nephew told me that when he put his on that the computer wanted to see a load on the factory pump wiring and it threw a code. He had to cut a relay or something to get rid of the code. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a simple fix for it?

I didn't feel good about using a fuse tap to power the FASS on my 05. Guess I'm too particular. If memory serves, the FASS install instructions for the 05call for the removal of the relay that controls the factory pump in the tank. I elected to leave that in place and cut the power lead to the factory pump and then solder and sleeved that to the FASS power. The factory wiring harness runs right by the new FASS so it was an easy job. Powering the FASS this way keeps the FASS from running all the time with just the key on. By the way, I didn't bypass the existing filter housing as the instruction called for. I ran the fuel line from the FASS to the existing fuel filter housing to keep the water sensor and pre heater in line.
