New Dyno Numbers on my 06'-WOW!/Thanks Marco and Bob!

I told many of you that I would post my new dyno numbers as soon as I was able to get back to the dyno with my 2006 Dodge CTD CR and last night myself, Bobby Downes (dperf), Cris Sonnichsen (masonic_dodge), and Dan Zilles made it back to "Waynes Dyno and Performance" in Jacksonville, N.C.

To give you all some background, I was running the "TST PM 3 CR" Fueling Box with R-49 and a Schwitzer 62/12 Turbo. Bottom end was lacking after removing the stock turbo and installing the Schwitzer 62/12 and my friend Bobby Downes recommended I buy and install the Smarty telling me "You will get all that bottom-end back John!" Well, my sincere thanks to Bobby, because he was right! I got all that bottom end back AND MORE! I ordered my Smarty through Lary Ellis (Top) here in the DTR Store and Bob Wagner set it up for me with the Smarty "Wild" Program. Well, with that set-up, (TST "stacked" with the Smarty), I laid down 534 H.P./988 TQ. on David Dunbars "Dynojet 248C" back on Saturday June 30, 2007 at the "Claremont, Va. Diesel Rally."

Well since then, and with my sincere thanks to Bob Wagner I have upgraded to the 4.10 Beta Program. All I can say is WOW!!! Last night I made three runs with my truck on Wayne Murphys' Dynojet 248C and listed here below is all the data of those three runs:

Run #1: TST set @ 2/0, Smarty on Level #8-------------567 H.P./1002 TQ.

Run #2: TST set on 3/0, Smarty on Level #8------------577 H.P./1026 TQ.

Run #3: TST set on 3/1, Smarty on Level #8------------581 H.P./1030 TQ.
(on this run we turned the timing up from 9 to 12)

To summarize the data some, the 4.10 Beta Program gave me thirty-four (34)
more horespower and fourteen (14) more ft.lbs. of torque than the Smarty "Wild" Program! Cranking the TST up on H.P. slightly (2-3) added ten (10) more H.P. and twenty four (24) more ft.lbs. of torque. And finally, adding one more number on the TST "torque" setting, and dialing in some more timing, (9-12 degrees) took the power up forty-seven H.P. and forty-two on torque with the 4.10 Beta versus the 4.06 "Wild" Program!

These three runs are "uncorrected numbers."

Run Conditions:

Temperature: 59 degrees
Humidity: 24%
Barometric Pressure: 30.39
Correction Factor: 1.00

I was AMAZED that I am able to make almost 600 H.P. with having just the TST, the Smarty Programmer with Bob and Marcos' tune, my Schwitzer 62/12 Turbo and the modified tranny!! LOL!! I still have STOCK injectors and a STOCK fuel system! Bobby Downes, Cris Sonnichsen and Dan Zilles were all there with me as witnesses on this. The fuel pressure on Runs #2 and #3 was down to 2-3 lbs. and I am planning on installing a Walbro Pump here after the holidays to help that.

Anyway, I thought you guys might like to see the data and again want to thank Marco, Bob Wagner, Bobby Downes and also Tim Barber for everything! The fact that a truck like mine, with no more modifications than it has, speaks volumes about the power and quality that these Smarty Programmers have! As I said, I am truly amazed and impressed with these numbers. I have to again say, that the installation of the Smarty Programmer on my 2006 Dodge CTD CR is the BEST performance modification that I have done to my truck! Thank you again Marco and Bob Wagner!

Merry Christmas!

Very impressive

Congrats on the new numbers. Gives me hope that once I get my tranny built and my wallet drained I can still afford some power!

Congrats John. Upgrade the Fuel System, DIY CP3 Mod, Head studs and Valve springs. And you should be deep into the 12's. I thought the 06' was supposed to be your tow rig. LOL

Thats a lot of power out of a stock lift pump, I thought that most ran out fuel around the 450 hp level? Still impressive though.

John,
That is very similar setup to what I am planning on using. What software are you running in the TST-R49? I just ordered my DTT transmission from local builder Mass Diesel and when that is installed it will be Smarty and SB-62 as the next additions.

Do you know how the Silver Bullet 62 differs from the Switzer 62/12 you are using?

I would be very happy to get close to what you have seen with this combo.

Thanks, Jeff

It would be interesting to know what happens when you use the timing from the smarty instead of the tst. I think a little more power would be there. Buts thats just what I heard from someone else who ran this same setup, except for a htt 65/13 turbo.
