The thing that bothers me about your run is the mph. With the power you should be making, you should be closer to 120. What boost are you seeing going down the track? When does it shift to OD (before the 1/8 mile?)? What is your rail pressure?

Paul
What size tires are you running? I'm sure my heavy 35" mudders aren't helping my situation. I'm seeing 60psi overall and 30psi out of the primary. I haven't setup a drive pressure gauge to see how efficient that is at full boost. I do need to do that, though! I wasn't paying attention as to when it's shifting into OD. If I find a spot to try it out today, I'll see about what speed I'm hitting OD and compare it to my time slip to see about where on the 1/4mile it's shifting. Rail pressure holds STEADY at bout 25kpsi.

You would see a reduction across the board; however, much less so at lower levels and more at the top.

Remembering that boost is really a measure of restriction, the head work removes restriction and thus you get better flow.

Using the fire hose analogy, if a small diameter fire hose requires (using purely imaginary numbers to make the point) 100 psi to force 100 gph of water through it and you went to a 50% larger hose (remove restriction) you could then push the same 100 gph of water with say only 50psi.

I would add the need for spring clamps and/or traction bars if you dont have them. Axle wrap kills launching.

I've been wanting a set of traction bars, but can't seem to find any that really jump out at me. Has anyone had any experience with the ones from One Up Offroad

I haven't priced those out yet, but I do like the design. Everyone seems to go with the round tubing, but I kinda like to be different. I like the looks of these 2" square tubing bars with Ballistic ends and tube adapters that Adam Harman (Bigyellowiron) built.

These would definitely be a cheaper route. Any suggestions on what the desired length should be for my QC long bed?

I'll definitely take you up on that offer, thanks Christian! I'm actually trying to make it up there to visit my mom for Mother's Day, we'll see if I can take the time off. I'll keep in touch with ya!

Thanks for the advice guys! I threw a set of traction bars on and put on some all terrain 285 tires, aired down to 30psi. I boosted up to 20psi and was able to get my 60ft time down to 1.73 seconds which brought my 1/4 mile time down to 12.02 seconds at 112.92mph. This was this evening at Rocky Mountain Raceway, 4200ft elevation, and at about 90 degrees outside. I'm gonna run on Friday at the midnight drags hoping the cooler outside air will help me dip into the 11s.

Anyone know why I'm still only trapping at 112, even though I'm almost half a second faster? That run was with TNT/R tune on SW8, torque management on 1, shift defuel off, timing on 2, pressure on 3, and wastegate set to off.
