New Amsoil Bypass Kit???

According to their website they've got a new kit for our trucks. It's a dual filter setup with a full flow and a bypass combined. It uses a spin on adapter that goes in place of the regular filter. This looks like it's pretty easy to install. Am I reading this right? It's the BMK25. I thought that the BMK21 was the only one.

As far as I can tell...yeah. It's basically a remote filter setup.

Trevor, this is what I need. I need to eliminate the stock oil filter for room of course. I thought the bmk-25 looked like what I need. Do you know of any issues with low oil pressure if you run the full flow and remote filters? Also, can you locate the remote filters as far as you want to from the engine? Thanks, Jay

I have the combo unit (bypass and full flow) mounted to the frame under the passenger side door... that is quite aways back, and I had to have my own longer hoses fabbed up for it. It is the older system and I have experienced no issues at all with it.

This is for the new trucks including the 6.7l. As far as I can tell it's been redesigned just for the new CR. The low pressure issue I believe was for the double bypass system that used two bypass filters in unison. Soulezoo apparently has his working quite far from the engine with no issues. I'm ordering one today. When it comes in I'll take some pictures and let you guys know how it works out.

What's the advantage of this? Longer filter life and better filtration (down to a lower micron)? What micron is the Fleet Guard Stratapore rated at?

The advantage of the bypass filter is to help prolong the life of the oil and help decrease associated engine wear by removing contaminents all the way to ~2 microns. The average full flow oil filter only goes to about 30 microns. Common sense suggests the more crud taken out, the better. I am not certain what exact micron rating the Stratapore is, but it is around the 30 range.

FWIW, and relatively unknown, the Amsoil full flow filter is ~15 micron.

I've reviewed the drawings provided in the installation instructions. So the oil flows from the engine through the full flow filter then to the bypass filter then back to the engine? What's the difference between a full flow filter and a bypass filter? The terminology used in the install instructions is a little new to me. Thanks for the insight. I'm definetly interested to see some pics of where and how Trevor mounts this unit. I think it'll be highly useful for everyone on the "B" maintenance schedule.
