I do all of my own work. Owned a 93 Mustang GT for 8 years, which is long enough to turn anyone into an ASE mechanic, almost . I bought the car before I could ever afford to pay someone to install my mods, not to mention I wanted to work on it, so I taught myself how to work on cars.

Sorry for the delay on the photos. I should have them tomorrow if business isn't overwhelming for me. I did get a chance to make a full throttle run through all of 5th gear to check EGT. WELL....Tom will like to hear this in particular...IT WORKS!! 1180 EGTs was the highest I saw running WOT in 5th gear from 1800-3400 RPM. W/ the 4" full exhaust, it would hit 1250 in the same situation. Not a huge decrease, but enough to see that the 4" restriction inside the muffler is not hurting me.

Dyno day fell through tomorrow night, but early next week will work.

Maybe one of these weekends we can get together for a beer and lunch at Hooters and I can check out your rig?

Photos!!

Yeah, that would work, although I am more of a Winghouse fan...less grease

Well, I FINALLY got the photos up! Here are some shots of my "Magnaldson 5 inch"

The more I drive this thing, the happier I am. It sounds MUCH more like a big rig than it used to. The old system was much raspier and too high pitched. It's nice and deep now with more turbo whine heard through the exhaust (since the actual exhaust note is reduced).

Rob, I seriously want to run this 5" Donaldson w/ my stock exhaust, and cat. I would add reducers to go from 4"-5" and some flex tube to to fix the off set but I don't know if I can get it all to fit w/ my QCSB and cat. What do you think? Or do you think I need to run the Donaldson 41 with the cat?

It SHOULD fit w/ your cat on your QCSB truck. I have since gone back to my stock 4" piping with a Rokktech Silent Might muffler without the cat. This muffler is 48" overall and it is designed to work with or without the cat on the later model CR trucks. the only problem would be the added length with the reducers. It SHOULD fit, but may be a bit tight. I personally would just run the donaldson 4" muffler and no cat...the sound will be very similar. Kitties do NOT belong on diesel trucks....it's insulting

With the aftermarket turbo, the 5" was just a bit too loud at my cruise RPMs so I figured the Rokktech would be the best set up....I was wrong. I'm screwed with the aftermarket turbo....even that thing drones from 2k RPM to 2200 RPM, but it's not as bad. I miss the sound of the 5"...it was perfect.

Just ordered my 51" Donaldson. Cant wait to get it. i am very happy with my 5 inch around town, sounds super cool. But after 4 hours up and down hills on the NYS Thruway towing, the drone gets very tiresome, and it always seems to be the worst around 70 . So I am fairly sure the Donaldson will fix this, I just hope its at least a little louder than stock.
