need transmission knowledge
I have a 07 with a 5.9. I have put an s&b cold air kit, afe blade runner, and an edge juice with attitude alondg eith a strait pipe. Im wanting to know what is the best and most cost efficient way of improving my automtic transmission. I am watching all of my gauges and trying to keep my foot out of it, but the transmission was weak from factory and I really dont trust it. I would be doing some trailer pulling, normally no more than a few horses. Any help would be appreciated and does anyone know of a transmission shop around the central texasd area. I live in Buffalo, Tx. Thanks for any help/

Call James Northum in Midlothian, TX. He is about 100 miles or so from you. Phone (972) 467-3702. He can answer your questions about service, minor upgrades, or built to the hilt transmissions. He is a DTT builder and also an authorized Goerend's installer.
I am extremely pleased with my DTT built by him.
At a minimum I would say you need an aftermarket valve body and torque converter. And with the Juice Attitude you probably will want some billet shafts and flexplate as well...if you ever plan to play with it any.

If you decide to go with James.....he can direct you in what parts you need based on what you want. He should be able to give you options and prices for those options. He will order the parts in advance from DTT and have them waiting at his shop before you ever bring your truck to him.....to minimize down time. It will probably be in and out in a day or two.

Pretty much what Texas said as it all depends on your power goals. My build was for longevity and better drivability. I only run a 100+/- HP box with a factory fuel and turbo. I had mine built so it would actually put the power to the ground that I had. I did not go with billet shafts or a flex plate. No need in my case. I do have a single disk converter, new valve body and misc. parts, billet servo, and a billet accumalator piston. Everytime my buddy drives my truck he just oohs and aahs over the tranny. He has a factory tranny in his as there is no comparison........
