Need transmission, which for bang for the buck?
I am in the Hot Shot business and towing is my life. I have a 9100lbs 40ft PJ GN and I Carrie anywhere from 7000lbs to 20,000lbs on top of my trailer. I just got my Smarty and if my tranny is slipping now just with the programmer; not that it doesn't happen anyways while towing these loads. I am looking for a transmission that can handle what I due but bang for the buck.
I was considering purchasing an ATS trans, 5 star converter ,billet flex plate, and a lockup controller. If I have to spend this kind of money I will but if there is any other builders that can offer billet shaft thats if they are even necessary?
Do I need the billet parts or will other parts due? If you could lead me the right way that would be great. Thanks.

yup. HTS website He also doesnt charge a core charge, that helped me out alot! Dusty and Marianne are really nice to do business with, went above and beyond for me, even convinced me NOT to put in a intermediate shaft which i was planning on buying anyway but dusty told me the one i have is more reliable than the billet one.

It may be that its because there are more of them out there but ATS has had a lot of bad press. I have not heard a single complaint about HTS or Goerend, my Goerend tranny is on the way as we speak. Both are also cheaper than ATS for full billet tranny's.

That is not all you are going to need pulling that kind of weight. I am in a similar boat pulling my horse trailer. Any Combined vehicle weight of over 20,000 lbs will have a high tendency to break the input shaft.
TC, VB, Flexplate, Billet input shaft, and a possible Billet output shaft.
If it is already slipping it is probably to late and you may want to do a rebuild at the same time.

I live in San Antonio TX. I have a friend who builds trannys and if you all could tell me where to get parts and which ones I should stay away from that would be great. Thanks.
